Round seven of Harlequin Kradam Fest is now closed.

No more claims will be allowed, but those of you who weren’t able to post during the normal posting period have a 15-day amnesty period in which to post your fic and/or art.

Hello, everyone! I've been asked if I'm going to hold another round of Harlequin Kradam this year, and the answer is yes! I've also decided to make some changes.

~The first major change is to the schedule. The posting period will now end on October 31 (instead of September 30) and there will be a 15 day amnesty posting period following that.

~The second major change has to do with prompt submissions, which will now be done via form and and all the prompts saved into a spreadsheet so they don't have to be re-submitted each round. (Though I will remove prompts that have been filled from the spreadsheet unless someone asks me not to.)

The revised schedule for this round is:

Prompt Submission Period: June 15, 2014 - July 5, 2014
Prompts Available for Claiming: July 6, 2014
Claiming/Posting Period: July 6, 2014 - October 31, 2014
Last Day to Claim/Post: October 31, 2014
Amnesty Posting Period: November 1, 2014 - November 15, 2014


Tropes: To make it easier to search for certain prompts, there will be a trope category in the prompt submission form that will ask you to select the trope that best describes your prompt. (In fact, I'm considering including three such questions because I can think of a dozen prompts off the top of my head that will include more than one trope.) Therefore, if someone is searching for 'marriage of convenience' prompts (or marriage of convenience/baby on board/estranged lovers prompts), they can choose that (those) trope(s) from the drop down box(es) and see them all in one place.

I don't want to leave out any tropes, nor do I want to include too many. Please take a look at this list of tropes I've compiled and let me know if there are more I should add, some I should remove, or some that can be combined. Thank you!

You may submit:

~general prompts or more specific scenarios;

General Prompt: marriage of convenience

Specific Scenario: Kris Allen is the son of a wealthy businessman who must marry by his 25th birthday or lose the inheritance he plans to use to fund his own charity. He sees Adam Lambert, a struggling musician, perform one night and is smitten; Kris makes Adam an offer he can’t refuse.

~blurbs off the back of Harlequin romance novels, or blurbs from the back of DVD cases, or scenarios you’ve made up yourself, or mix ‘em up (if you link to a source, please include the link only, no coding, as that makes it easier for me to c&p into the master list); and

~prompts from the last round (just c&p them into a comment here), whether they were claimed and filled or not.

The only requirements are that the prompt be Kris/Adam and be of a Harlequin nature (which we will interpret broadly). Harlequin is a type of romance that includes everything from traditional to historical, intrigue to supernatural. If you’re not sure what we mean by the term ‘Harlequin’, check out the eHarlequin writing guidelines.

Here are several more prompts to get us started:

~Kris Allen signs up for Theater 101 because it’s the only open course that fits his schedule. It’s not long before the professor learns what Kris has always known: he sucks at acting. Kris is handed over to the not so tender mercies of TA, Adam Lambert, who teaches Kris about acting, and a whole lot more.

~Single dad Kris Allen finally bows to the inevitable and hires a nanny to help him take care of his daughter/son. Picturing the staid nanny types who suck all the fun out of life, he tells the service that he wants someone who is imaginative and artistic. When Adam Lambert first appears on his doorstep, Kris isn’t sure he’s the right man for the job, but Adam soon convinces Kris otherwise.

~When photographs of Kris Allen kissing another man are posted on-line he refuses to deny that he is gay. His record company claims breach of contract, but they give Kris a choice: either he will be banned from performing publicly for the remainder of his contract and sued for damages, or he can agree to allow them to sell his contract to Adam Lambert, a man who has made no secret of his desire for Kris.

However, I realize that I have been a very lax mod this round, forgetting to post reminders and such. Because of that there will be a two week extension for anyone who wasn’t able to complete and post their fanfic/fanart submission before the Sept 30 deadline.
