Second Harlequin Kradam Fest: Prompt Submission Post

Comment here with your prompts for our second Harlequin Kradam Fest.

We will accept prompts through January 4th.

All of the prompts will be collated into a list and posted here at harlequinkradam on January 5th for claiming. Prompts will be available for claiming (and you may post your fanfic or fanart submissions) from January 5th through March 31st.

You may submit:

~general prompts or more specific scenarios;

For example:

General Prompt: marriage of convenience

Specific Scenario: Kris Allen is the son of a wealthy businessman who must marry by his 25th birthday or lose the inheritance he plans to use to fund his own charity. He sees Adam Lambert, a struggling musician, perform one night and is smitten; Kris makes Adam an offer he can’t refuse.

~blurbs off the back of Harlequin romance novels, or blurbs from the back of DVD cases, or scenarios you’ve made up yourself, or mix ‘em up; and

~prompts from the last round (just c&p them into a comment here), whether they were claimed and filled or not.

The only requirements are that the prompt be Kris/Adam and be of a Harlequin nature (which we will interpret broadly). Harlequin is a type of romance that includes everything from traditional to historical, intrigue to supernatural. If you’re not sure what we mean by the term ‘Harlequin’, check out the eHarlequin writing guidelines.

~No crossover prompts allowed. (You may including other pairings, including crossover RPS pairings, in your fic so long as Kris/Adam is the main pairing, but we'd like to keep the focus of the comm, and therefore the prompts themselves, on Kris and Adam.)

Here are several more prompts to get us started:

~Kris Allen signs up for Theater 101 because it’s the only open course that fits his schedule. It’s not long before the professor learns what Kris has always known: he sucks at acting. Kris is handed over to the not so tender mercies of TA, Adam Lambert, who teaches Kris about acting, and a whole lot more.

~Single dad Kris Allen finally bows to the inevitable and hires a nanny to help him take care of his daughter/son. Picturing the staid nanny types who suck all the fun out of life, he tells the service that he wants someone who is imaginative and artistic. When Adam Lambert first appears on his doorstep, Kris isn’t sure he’s the right man for the job, but Adam soon convinces Kris otherwise.

~When photographs of Kris Allen kissing another man are posted on-line he refuses to deny that he is gay. His record company claims breach of contract, but they give Kris a choice: either he will be banned from performing publicly for the remainder of his contract and sued for damages, or he can agree to allow them to sell his contract to Adam Lambert, a man who has made no secret of his desire for Kris.

~Kris Allen is forced to approach Adam Lambert, King of the Vampires in Los Angeles, California to request a favor. Adam, attracted to Kris, grants the favor on the condition that Kris spend one night with him. Kris agrees and earns the favor, but Adam is unable to stop thinking about him after their single night of passion. Adam determines to find him and make Kris his . . . permanently.

1.) Gay Mafia? It exists. Adam just happens to be the leader. When a cute young twink enters into the backroom of their meeting and sees something he shouldn't see, well Adam has no choice but to keep him, right? It doesn't hurt that Kris is perfect, even if he has a horrible sense of direction. Except apparently, Kris works for the FBI. It might be a Romeo and Juliet fiasco, but Adam has the gay mafia backing him up on this and he always gets what he wants... even if that includes an IT intern who mostly knows how to make great coffee and look pitiful when he apologizes for the delay in customer service.

2.) Kris is a black belt and can break cement blocks with his pinky finger; as such, he sees no issue walking around at night. But when he comes across a bad guy mugging a prostitute he does what needs to be done. Then he offers to buy the poor guy a coffee because he wants to help, and like his Mama taught him, even Jesus saw fit to be nice to Mary Magdalene.

Adam hates his life, or just the play he's in. He'd rather be doing another Debbie Does Dallas musical than his role as street walker #3. The only thing good about the role is this month's rent and the boots. Adam's a big guy and in his bigger-than-elton's stiletto boots he maxes out about seven feet tall, and he feels awesome! The last thing he expects is for someone to try and mug him (like he really has room for a wallet in his hot pants!). He could take care of it, he grew up fat and faggy after all and knows a thing or two about fighting, but maybe it's not all bad to have a night in shining armor once in a while. Actually, Adam could get used to this (it's even cute that Kris is afraid of spiders) - even if Kris needs to catch a clue and realize Adam isn't actually a hooker.
