Fourth Harlequin Kradam Fest: Prompt Submission Post

Wow! I can’t believe this is already our fourth round! Comment here with your prompts for our fourth Harlequin Kradam Fest. *g*

We will accept prompts through January 4th.

All of the prompts will be collated into a list and posted here at harlequinkradam on January 5th for claiming. Prompts will be available for claiming (and you may post your fanfic or fanart submissions) from January 5th through March 31st.

You may submit:

~general prompts or more specific scenarios;

General Prompt: marriage of convenience

Specific Scenario: Kris Allen is the son of a wealthy businessman who must marry by his 25th birthday or lose the inheritance he plans to use to fund his own charity. He sees Adam Lambert, a struggling musician, perform one night and is smitten; Kris makes Adam an offer he can’t refuse.

~blurbs off the back of Harlequin romance novels, or blurbs from the back of DVD cases, or scenarios you’ve made up yourself, or mix ‘em up; and

The only requirements are that the prompt be Kris/Adam and be of a Harlequin nature (which we will interpret broadly). Harlequin is a type of romance that includes everything from traditional to historical, intrigue to supernatural. ~Kris Allen signs up for Theater 101 because it’s the only open course that fits his schedule. It’s not long before the professor learns what Kris has always known: he sucks at acting. Kris is handed over to the not so tender mercies of TA, Adam Lambert, who teaches Kris about acting, and a whole lot more.

~Single dad Kris Allen finally bows to the inevitable and hires a nanny to help him take care of his daughter/son. Picturing the staid nanny types who suck all the fun out of life, he tells the service that he wants someone who is imaginative and artistic. When Adam Lambert first appears on his doorstep, Kris isn’t sure he’s the right man for the job, but Adam soon convinces Kris otherwise.

~When photographs of Kris Allen kissing another man are posted on-line he refuses to deny that he is gay. His record company claims breach of contract, but they give Kris a choice: either he will be banned from performing publicly for the remainder of his contract and sued for damages, or he can agree to allow them to sell his contract to Adam Lambert, a man who has made no secret of his desire for Kris.

Kris Allen knew things were bad when he got called to the dean's office at his university. He just didn't expect to see his estranged father when he arrived or the proposal his father offers him. Little does Kris know that by signing his name on the dotted line, he's agreed to become the personal blood donor to a vampire prince and there is not breaking this blood contract.

Prince Adam Lambert is dying. He needs a blood donor with pure blood. When Kris is brought to him, Adam finds himself dealing with feelings he has never experienced before. Falling in love with his blood donor was never part of the contract.

When Kris's life is threatened, Adam will do anything to save him, even break every rule of his kind. He's even willing to give up his life to save the man he loves. But will it be enough and will it be in time? More importantly, will Kris accept a vampire prince as his mate?

~Rock star Adam Lambert needs a break. Lane once mentioned a volunteer group she worked with in the past, and told him how rewarding it was. Adam remembers that conversation when he’s thinking about places to hide out and recharge his batteries, so he has Lane sign him up.

Adam wonders if he’s gotten more than he’d bargained for – Haiti [or place of your choice] is hotter than he’d imagined (his make-up *melts* off his face), and he’d take a shower twice a day if his tent (or the camp it was in) had running water – but then Adam meets the man in charge of the group of volunteers Adam is a part of.

Kris Allen is no stranger to helping others; he’s been on several mission trips since starting college. This time, though, Kris needed to get away so he could think; it’s time to decide whether he wants to keep on playing music in bars and producing his own records that sell about 10 copies, or if he wants to get married and finish college.

Kris thinks that there’s only one path to follow; the same path his father took. He’d given his music a chance, now it was time to be an adult, grow up. But then Adam Lambert shows up in his little group of volunteers, and shows Kris that there’s another path. Will Kris be brave enough to walk the path that leads to happiness in Adam’s arms?

~Kris Allen is a werefox, which is really unfair, because everyone else in his family is a werewolf. No one treats him differently, but Kris feels like he doesn’t fit in. Until he meets Adam Lambert, the new Alpha for the Arkansas region.

~Kris Allen and Adam Lambert were once the best of friends, brought together by a common experience. Kris even thought he was in love with Adam, but time and distance have separated them. It’s been several years since Kris has even seen Adam, until someone starts killing the American Idol winners.

Adam freaks out and kidnaps Kris because he doesn’t believe that Kris will take the proper precautions on his own. Kris can call no one for help, mainly because Adam left Kris’ phone at his house so no one could trace him, but also because his family was complicit in said kidnapping.

Kris is determined to remain irritated with Adam for kidnapping him, but being with Adam 24/7 reminds Kris how much he likes Adam and enjoys hanging out with him. And just why he fell in love with him in the first place. Kris finds himself less concerned with the madman killing Idols, and more worried that he won’t be able to hide his growing feelings from Adam.

~Kris Allen’s first love was music, but when he was drafted by [baseball franchise of your choice] right out of high school, he figured it was too good an opportunity to pass up, so he packed his guitar, along with his favorite glove and bat, and headed to [wherever their triple A team plays].

Kris is doing pretty well. Even though he’s a bit homesick, he gets along with most of the guys on the team, and he’s even heard rumors that he might be sent up to the majors if they need a back up [catcher], just to give him some experience at that level. He misses playing with his dad, and his friends, but he’s got his guitar and his roommate doesn’t care if he plays it in their room, so Kris figures he’s doing alright.

Until he walks into a club he’d never been in before and meets Adam Lambert. Adam has a voice like an angel (or the devil, Kris thinks, because it makes him want to do very naughty things to the other man), and he’s gorgeous to boot. Just when Kris believes he’s chosen the path his life is going to take, Adam comes along and makes him rethink that.

Kris and Adam are born and grow up in the same town and time frame, (of your choosing) and in this particular hamlet it's common for mothers to get together and form a marrying pact when their children are still newborns (this is some kind of supernatural-y, witch-y, magic-y thing) Well Katy's mom and Kim decided that Kris and Katy should be married(hold on, I'm getting there, gimmie a sec, LOL). Well they make the pact and seal it it's supposed to guarantee that the two children involved will most certainly fall in love. The problem is that every time their mothers set up a date for them, Adam somehow ends up (unbeknownst to him) intervening by being in the middle of some accident/disturbance drawing Kris's attention (and Kris the white knight he is, always comes to Adam's rescue) while Kris is on his way to his date and he never makes it, this happens several times and by the Kris meets Katy, he's already in love with Adam because of course they became friends in the midst of all of this.

~Adam Lambert and Kris Allen had been in love once, but that was years ago. When they meet up again Kris is determined to maintain a distance between them; Adam is equally determined to win Kris back.

~Vampire Prince Kristopher Allen must bond with his mate or forfeit succession to the throne. When Kris meets Adam Lambert he knows immediately that he’s found his mate, but there’s just one problem: Adam’s still human. Will Kris give up Adam, or the throne?

~Kris Allen is under a lot of stress – finishing his album and doing interviews and photo shoots and radio promos – and the more responsibilities that build up, the more control he tries to exert. Kris wants to taste Adam’s kisses again, but Adam refuses to let himself get distracted (not even when Kris walks around in a towel, fresh from the shower, or all sleepy and bedhead-y). People underestimate Kris; they think of him as mellow and laid back, and don’t see the steely determination that lies beneath the surface. And Kris is determined to get his man.

Can Kris convince Adam to take a chance on him, and will the killer give them the opportunity to explore a future together?

~Adam Lambert’s a little tipsy when he mistakes Kris Allen for a fan and takes him home for the night [or blows him off, author choice]. Things are a bit awkward when Adam realizes that the Kris he met the night before is the same Kris Allen his band is supposed to be opening for on their upcoming tour. Can Adam convince Kris that he’s not quite the player [or jerk] he appears to be, and show him that they’re perfect for each other?

~Kris Allen wakes up in the hospital having lost his memories of the last six months of his life. The one thing he remembers is Adam Lambert, and the love they share. Adam takes Kris home from the hospital to the home they share, but things feel strange to Kris. What happens when he remembers the truth, that Adam left him for another man and has just been playing a role to help Kris get his memory back? Can Adam convince Kris that he truly loves him? Can Kris trust him?

~Kris Allen and Adam Lambert were once friends. Now they’re being forced into an arranged marriage so that Adam’s family doesn’t lose their home and standing. Kris had been in love with Adam when they were growing up, but Adam only had eyes for Bradley Bell. Kris believes that Adam is pining for his ex and only marrying Kris to help out his family. He agrees to the marriage only if they never have to share the same bed. Can Adam convince Kris that he is the one Adam loves?

~Kris Allen has come out to his family and, while they accept him, his church and friends don’t. To get away, Kris agrees to become a mail order bride. When Kris meets Adam Lambert, he’s recovering from a broken heart. Which kind of sucks, because Kris falls for Adam the moment their eyes meet. Feelings develop between the two of them, but Kris knows he’s just a substitute for the man Adam really loves. Can Adam convince Kris that he’s wrong and keep him from returning to his family?
